Laughter is healing.
In the beginning, marriage starts out a lot like going on a holiday. You bring along your hopes for being satisfied and jump right in, waiting for it to get good. You have no idea how much of your own ego, pride, and personality affect daily married life.
Married people need to feel needed as well as wanted. A husband and wife need to support one another.
I married at a young age. It’s something that should never have happen in the first place. It ended in a nasty divorce four years later. I wish someone had told me that marriage is a partnership between two people who are equal, coming together for mutual inner spiritual and outer physical growth. He and I were clearly not that now that I look back on that part of my life.
If I had my life to start over, I would have insisted on taking a long series of tests with my soon-to-be-husband. I would ask so many questions on love, health, money, anger, fear, temper, ect.
Partners mirror each other.
I quit looking for a partner and started looking for my true purpose.
I believe that when you least expect it, when you aren’t looking to meet someone new, this is when the right person appears in your life.
When my current husband fell into my lap, as it were, men were at the VERY bottom of my list. I had just ended a 5-year relationship with a man and it didn’t end very well. So I decided to swear off men altogether. I made a garden, had a good job, and of course my little girl kept me busy.
One day, a friend of mine asked me to help a friend of hers to start up his own website. I said sure and to give him my IM addy. We got started on the Site and before I knew it, we were spending long hours on both the phone and on-line.
‘Thank you God for helping me to meet someone new if it is meant to be’ I silently prayed.
Over the course of the next seven months, we talked and talked till finally we started to slowly talk about meeting face to face. A month later, I knew he was the one the moment he stepped off the bus. That’s when I realized I had chosen with my heart first, then my head, and lastly, my body.
I feel that when a man and a woman decide to live together, they first need to make a commitment to each other, promising to respect, love, and nurture each other.
Marriage is one of the greatest tests of human discipline. Each person must live up to the promises that he/she makes to the other.
In my opinion, to get and stay married, you have to want, appreciate, and love being married because only true lasting relationships are built on respect, love, and commitment. Find a best friend in each other and you have a mate who bonds for life.
Marry for money and you may find success. Marry for looks and show off to the rest. Marry for brains and you may pass the test. But marry for love and you’ve got the best.
In closing I will say this. The grass doesn’t become greener once you’ve been married for a while. But if you remember to remove the weeds and remember the fertilizer, how green the grass becomes in your own relationship.

I had to do some digging in one of my drawers, but I found an article that goes pretty good with what I posted earlier. Its from the USA Weekend 2006 and wrote by Dennie Huges. She has a column in there called ‘RelationTips.’ In this article, it has a series of 5 questions. I want to share them with you. I believe that these questions are the very foundation of a lasting and happy Marriage.
Marrying Right
Be sure before you tie the knot.
As autumn nears, thought it was a good time for a wedding primer.
Americans love the idea of being married.
More than half of the adult population is currently hitched legally.
Remember that it’s always wise to think twice before going to the altar.
Here’s a checklist of things you should consider:
> Have you spent lots of time together?
The more you do, the more you’ll learn how you both react to life’s situations.
> Have you spent time with each other’s friends?
They play a crucial role in a person’s life and can be a good indicator of what someone is really like.
> Do you know each other’s goals, values, ambitions and beliefs?
If not, find out. In addition to big issues such as sex, religion, children, work, and money, don’t forget to discuss hot-button topics like politics and expectations on household chores. Learn what is and isn’t up for compromise.
> Are the people closest to you happy about your relationship?
If trusted relatives and friends describe your relationship with words like loving, honest, respectful and supportive, then you’re on the right track.
> Have you had premarital counseling?
You’d be surprised by how many tips you can pick up about things such as communicating effectively or coping with individual fighting styles.
Doing some homework now can help you beat the divorce statistics.
**End of quote**
I’ve seen many a friend of the years who, like me, married young and therefore, in a matter of just a few short years, end up getting divorced. If only I had seen this article so much sooner in my young life, so much heartache could have been avoided. And so, this is my reason for posting it on here. I just hope and pray that maybe in some small way, it just might help young couples in this troubled time of ours clearly realize what they are in for.

Besides Boots, you are the only one who has wrote anything. I want the world to know the real me, as it were. I still have work to do on here, but I'm happy you like it so far.
